Hi! I’m Cynthia!

I love people. I love teaching. And I really love helping people connect.

I’ve been teaching English for more than 20 years and have helped thousands of students from around the world. But my journey as an English teacher actually started when I was 20 and moved from the US to Costa Rica to take university classes. After one week of Spanish class, I was so bad at the language that my professor yelled in my face, called me stupid, and told me to never come back.

I cried...a lot. But that experience also made me decide that one day I would teach people learning English as a new language—and give them a totally different experience. 

Today, I speak fluent Spanish, have a master’s degree in English, and have thousands of hours of experience teaching conversational and academic English, grammar, vocabulary, accent reduction, listening skills, and all the pieces that work together to maximize communication.

That’s why I created English UNITE: to help you find your inner superpower—confidence and fluency in English. Whether you take private classes with me, practice 24/7 with my AI Teacher Twin, or learn at your own pace with my courses and digital downloads, you’ll learn practical, real-life English while also learning to think and communicate differently--because the more we communicate, the more we connect.
